Bonnet:
1. Flip head upside down
2. Hold the bonnet open with both hands
3. Hook the bonnet at the nape of your neck
4. Stretch the bonnet downwards, over your the length of your curls
5. Press the ends of your curls up towards your scalp to gather it into the bonnet
6. Situate the bonnet and ensure all curls are tucked in

Durag:
1. Place that durag on your head and make sure that the center seam is in line with your nose. The edge of the durag should settle over your forehead or at the center of the forehead. Make sure that your entire hairline is covered, otherwise, the durag will come out easily.
2. Wrap the ties behind the head. Pull both ties back behind the head so that they cross in an "X" behind the head. Ties should rest between the ear and the head, so that the ears stay exposed.
3. Cross the ties in front of the head. Make sure they cross in the center of your forehead. Then pull them all the way to the back of your head. Don’t pull the ties too tightly or you can get headaches.
4. Tie a knot at the back of your head. It should sit at the base of your skull. Begin as though you were tying your shoes. However, instead of making loops, simply make a double knot.
5. Pull down on the flap. This will tighten the durag and give some nice compression on your hair.
Don’t pull too hard.
6. Fold up flap if desired.
